About us
We’re Steve and Lena — the husband-and-wife team behind Mission Harvest Farm.
Our roots run deep in rural living. Steve grew up in small-town Ontario, surrounded by cornfields and dairy farms, while Lena was raised on a homestead in the quiet woods of Alberta. Though we didn’t know it at the time, those early experiences planted the seeds for the life we now live and love.
After high school, Steve headed west in search of mountain adventures, building a career in welding, construction, and eventually project management. Lena made her way to Vancouver Island, working in the service industry and managing government social programs before discovering her creative side as a tattoo artist.
Everything changed when we became parents. With our growing family came a desire to live more intentionally — closer to nature, with good food on the table and dirt on our hands. That dream brought us to a beautiful little farm in Mission, BC.
The land we now farm had once been a thriving, certified organic vegetable farm, but it sat untouched for nearly a decade. We’re working hard to restore its vitality and grow food that’s not only delicious, but truly nourishing.
We believe in sustainable, low-till farming that gives back to the soil, and in building community through fresh, local harvests. Whether you’re part of our CSA box program or stopping by the farmers market, we’re so glad to share this journey — and this food — with you.
Come be part of our story.
